Newsham Genetics Purchases Monsanto Choice Genetics, Changes Name

Newsham Genetics, LC announced today that it has finalized its acquisition of Monsanto Choice Genetics, Inc.
The purchase will further strengthen Newsham’s expanding base of business, according to Newsham Genetics Co-CEO Mark Weaver, DVM. “We are excited for the opportunities in research, genomics, and products that the combined power of these two businesses presents to the swine industry. Additionally, we are changing the name of our company to Newsham Choice Genetics to better exemplify our offerings,” says Weaver.

Newsham Choice Genetics is the second largest swine genetics supplier in North America. The company is the leader of marker assisted selection in pigs; using 6,000 SNPs in discovery and selection, and offers a variety of high-performance maternal and terminal products to the swine industry.
