Robert received his DVM from Iowa State University in 1961, his PhD in veterinary pathology in 1971, and board certification in 1972. He served in the US Army for two years. He then went into practice in Wisconsin for four years and was with the food animal industry in Arizona. His academic experience includes Iowa State University, Colorado State University, and the University of Arizona, with a focus on diagnostic pathology. Robert currently is a diagnostic pathologist at the Arizona Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at the University of Arizona.
